Introduction to Commissions

Written By Wilbert Averil

A Commission is the process of compensating partners for the commissions they earn from referred customers. Payouts are always generated automatically based on the program's commission structure.

Expando AI™ is designed to work well with One-Time and Recurring billing, processing the charge and generating commissions according to your commission structure.

To set up either One-Time or Recurring Commissions:

  1. When creating a deal, fill out Deal Total Value, and then click Partner Commissions.

  2. Choose either One-Time Commissions or Recurring Commissions

One-Time Commissions

When compensating partners for referrals, set up a One-Time Commissions for deals where the partner's involvement is limited to the initial sale, like a straightforward product purchase.

To set up One-Time Commissions:

  1. Upon clicking Partner Commissions, check One-Time Commissions

  2. Add Payment Date

  3. Then, click Save Draft

Example: Mark makes a referral, and the deal is valued at US$1000. Your commission structure is a 40% success-based fee. Mark will get US$400 in one invoice.

Recurring Commissions

Use recurring payouts when the partner's contribution is ongoing, such as in subscription-based services where they continue to support the customer.

To set up Recurring Commissions:

  1. Upon clicking Partner Commissions, check Recurring Commissions

  2. Fill out:

    1. Subscription amount

    2. Start date

    3. Billing frequency: How many invoices will be generated, or how many times you will pay out the partner commissions

    4. Duration: The interval at which you will be billed for the partner commissions

  3. Click Save Draft

Example: Mark refers Steve, who signs up for your US$200/mo plan for a commitment of 1 year. Your commission structure is a 40% success-based fee. If you set the payout duration to every month, Mark will get US$80 for Steve's US$200 invoice every month for 12 months, totaling US$960.
